A Quintessentially Singaporean Halloween

When I was growing up, Halloween was the kind of stuff that only existed in Enid Blyton story books and American TV shows. There was no dressing up as ghouls and the undead, and Singaporean kids did not go trick or treating. The only time that anyone would look like a goblin was if they were ugly, short, round and insisted on wearing green stockings.

But when it became legal for me to drink and enter clubs, Halloween morphed into a phenomenal costume party where men could make an appearance as Hooter girls with squeezable 38E boobs, and whales could go into town wearing, fishnet stockings low-cut corsets and micro mini skirts, without being tossed back into the zoo.

The scene at Butter Factory was riotous, not to mention hilarious, when my friends and I arrived at 12mn.

I was guilty of not dressing up in a theme because T refused to come as a toothfairy in pink tutu that showed his hairy legs and Cyn refused to turn up in public without her fake eyelashes that got lost somewhere in Malaysia.

And while I told everyone that I would be going as Lady Gaga, I had trouble finding a matching black granny underpants that matched my black corset - for some strange reason, they only sold those in granny beige. Plus the only silver wig that I found was from Toys'R'us that kept popping up on my head.

I was getting a lot of, "Hey why are you not dressed up!"
Me: "Yes, can't you tell, I'm actually a man in disguise?"

Here are some of the really cool (and funny) ones that I managed to capture before alcohol made everything so funny that all my pictures were a blur.

The Emperor whom I mistook for a Eunuch.

The girl with the missile boobs

Penthouse cover girl!

The O'Darling tissue with issues

There was also a pair of dudes who came as Emily Howard and Florence from Little Britain. Decked in Victorian laces, petticoats and parasols, they spoke in Little Britain-esque voice, and behaved just like any 2 ladies going about their normal "ladylike business", downing "lady drinks" and saying "But I'm a lady...I do lady things".

At one point, after being plied with copious amount of alcohol, I started prancing on the row of couches in FASH's VIP area, pretending to be Lady Gaga, totally disregarding the beat of the song that was being played. A waitress from Butter tried to coax me to come down before I told her this:

"Haahahaha...don't bluff. You pretend to work for Butter by wearing the Butter Factory Uniform, don't think I cannot tell."

Clearly she wasn't too amused.

In Singapore, instead of candied apples and carved pumpkins, we have lots of alcohol and drunk vampires; instead of girls dressing up as fairies and tinkerbells, we have men dressing up as centerfold girls or cleavage baring witches with garter belts.

Nobody really knows what Halloween is, or what it is about, as long as you get to laugh at people, be laughed at, have lots of fun, drink lots of alcohol and have a hangover the next morning. When Halloween comes to Singapore, it turns into a circus for adults to dress up in silly costumes, act stupid and get away with it.

4 things you must do when you visit Phuket

1. Bring a pensive little companion.

2. Take a ride on the real Songthaew.
Take a public bus ride from Kata beach to Phuket town just for the sake of it. Those come in intervals and you ride for a flat fee of 30 baht (about S$1++). They are really slow though. Don't be conned by a Tuk Tuk which will rip you off for 200 baht for a distance that you can easily walk.

3. Eat Italian food
Don't know where I've heard this or from whom, but legend has it that the best Japanese food outside of Japan can be found in Brazil; and the best Italian food outside of Italy can be found in Phuket. While I haven't tasted any orgasmic Italian food during my stay in Phuket (probably because I haven't found it and because I can only eat 3 meals a day) there are so many authentic eateries there that

4. Show off your bikini and frolick in the sea.

Phuket: The land of excess

An excesss of masseuse, nail parlours, tailors and Italian Restaurants.
Day after day, from the beach side to the secluded soi to a makeshift push cart.
No differentiation, no diversification.
It's an excess of the same things.

Too many saggy white whales populating the beaches,
Frolicking in the sun with their young Asian wives.
The image is somewhat disturbing, so ermm
'nuff said.

Too much unfulfilled promises of the beautiful underwater world,
and pristine white beaches nestled against the Andaman Sea.
The stark seabed and piles of dead corals destroyed by the Tsunami
That bore no vestiges of its glorious past as a paradise on earth.

Too many dark skinned girls or "girls" in miniskirts gyrating clumsily in Go-Go Bars
Luring the lone White traveller with alcohol and their not-so-nubile body
"But look, we are Oriental and exotic.
We can show you our tits and we love you big big."
It doesn't matter if you have a big belly, or if you look so old that the excitement from a blowjob will kill you.
It's okay as long as you are White and have the money.

A beach resort that is an excess of a beach resort.
Everything is built to look like a resort, and everywhere sells bikinis and sun block.
But it is a place where you get overwhelmed by the theatrics of its excessiveness,
And you forget, and you really do,
With the heat from the sun, the tranquility from the sea and the loud music;
With the pain from a sun burn and the distraction from too many hot bodies.
You momentarily forget...

(even whales forget that they are still whales)

How to politely refuse a Tuk Tuk ride in Phuket

During one of those long random walks along Kata Beach in Phuket, I fell in love with a T-shirt that says:

"I f*cking do not want a Thai massage,
tailor a suit
or ride a Tuk tuk,
so leave me alone!"

I bought it but regreted doing so also immediately because I don't think I'll ever have the guts to wear it.

Birthdays to me

At 5,
It meant going to school with blackforrest birthday cakes and pretty hair ribbons.
It meant I was the envy of all the boys and girls in kindergarten, with gifts of pink lollipops, and apple flavoured gummies.
It meant excitement.

At 8,
It meant Daddy coming home early with a birthday cake and McDonald's nuggets.
It meant wishing upon the candle wick that I'll grow up to be pretty and smart.
It meant simple, uncomplicated joy.

At 10,
Birthdays meant lots of friends, slumber parties and sweet valley kids books.
It meant going for water-rides in Sentosa, eating popcorns and hotdogs.
It meant fun.

At 12,
It meant having a new little brother who commanded everyone's attention.
It meant tolerating your Mother's post-natal depression - yelling, crying and bearing the brunt for everything that went wrong in the house.
It meant responsibilities.

At 15,
It meant being asked out on a date, with a single stalk of rose and earrings from Perlini's Silver.
It meant trying to look nonchalent when he tried to hold your sweaty palms to cross the road.
It meant a whole night of insomnia, feeling dizzy with the thought of having a boyfriend.
It meant the taste of first-love.

At 18,
It meant that Daddy couldn't come home and nobody remembered.
It meant putting on a brave front despite all the screaming, anger, and flying objects.
It meant nursing a boyfriend problem.
It meant hours of crying under the table, and blowing out a single candle by myself.
It meant sadness.

At 20,
It meant going moving away from home to live on campus, without your parents.
It meant making new friends, clubbing and drinking for the first time.
It meant cussing like a sailor.
It meant a new found sexuality.
It meant freedom.

At 22,
It meant being in-love, and being loved.
It meant a familiar scent, your favourite wine, and a quiet celebration with the family eating crabs at Toa Payoh.
It meant contentment.

At 24,
It meant working in front of your computer.
It meant numbing yourself with episodes of transient happiness.
It meant crying your eyes out because you feel all sucky and you don't really know what you want to do with your life and you have nobody to speak to.
It meant loneliness.

"What Girls Think" of Amara Sanctuary Resort

Catch me in my bimbo moments with SauceInk's series of "What Girls Think?" - as we tour Singapore to bring you the very best (and candid/unrehearsed) review.

For our debut, we visited the Amara Sanctuary Resort.

On a separate occassion, I had the good fortune of visiting their two-bedroom villa (image) below: Featuring an outdoor bathroom, and 2 rooms adjourned by a pool. Being a sucker for outdoor bathrooms and idyllic living, I thought the place was so beautiful, that I think I teared a little when I left for the day.

Nestled on the hillside of Sentosa's Palawan Beach offering its guests great seclusion, the Amara Sanctuary resort bears vestiges of Singapore's rich colonial past. Tastefully blending old-fashion romance with chic modernity, it's hard not to fall in love with the place.

Although it's not my maiden visit here, this was the first time that I was given a VIP tour of the place, and here're the highlights that makes the place oh-so-worth your buck.

Upon arrival, we were hosted at Shutters, a casual fusion restaurant with an open-concept kitchen. Amara Sanctuary doesn't only have 1, but 5 dining areas, including the ever-famous ThanYing Thai Restaurant, which (unfortunately) we didn't go to :(

The Infinity Pool
The sky Infinity Pool on the rooftop overlooks the South China Sea and it seems to stretch endlessly over the edge, and here's the best part. The inifinity pool area bans children from entering - That sounds like paradise to me

The courtyard suite
You would never believe it, but the 2-storey colonial-style Courtyard Suites were created from former British Sergeants’ quarters from the 1930s. It features an outdoor courtyard with a sunbed (that I am sitting on), a sumptuous four-poster bed with super high-thread count bedsheets (gasp!) , and a Jacuzzi in its own private garden.

The Jacuzzi in private garden was a winner for most of the girls.

Enough of my boring ramble...catch me on sauceINK's "What Girls Think".

*An early bird who caught the preview texted me the following,
U r so not you in the "What Girls Think" video! Ha...I can see you are struggling to keep the real you from surfacing! :-D

What can I say, except that even bimbos have their shy moments lah.

Bring my sexy back

After eons of not blogging, I'm back with a scary picture of my back.

My sedentary lifestyle of hunching over the computer, and alternative lifestyle of partying till the wee hours of the morning has taken a toll on my health, with frequent shoulder aches and insomnia. While the rest of my friends sought expensive spa treatments from Banyan Tree, I paid a visit to a Chinese sinseh at a TCM clinic in Rocher to get thrashed up.

For about S$80 and 2.5 hours, you get the following done to you:
  • Ba Mai: Get a calibration of your body's nerves, channels and vital points to determine your type of "illness"
  • Shua: Scrub Therapy
  • Gua Sha: Scrapping Therapy to improve ciculation and to remove the toxic heat and "qi" in your body (This is VERY motherfucking painful)
  • Zou Guan & Ba Guan: Cupping Therapy to release the stagnant "chi" in the body
  • Pressed, Prodded, Slapped, Pinched and Kneaded

While I was glad to come out in one-piece with a general sense of relaxation, the Ba Guan and Gua Sha gave me HUGE FUGLY purple welts and splotches as seen from the picture. Guess I won't be going to the beach or be seen painitng the town red in skimpy outfits for a while till the marks go away.

Isabelle the weekend Rocker

When I am not out partying up a storm and guzzling peanut butter jello vodka shots at Butter Factory, this is really what I do during the weekend.

I am using their video because I'm too embarrassed to show my own video. But my title sure caught your attention didn't it.

The Best Press Release Ever

Anyone who has ever drafted a press release would know that it typically follows a standard format that addresses the 5Ws and 1H in the immediate paragraph after the title.

So imagine my shock when I received a call to draft an URGENT announcement, that if translated into a press release would potentially read like this:

Singapore. July XX, 2009 - XXX Company announces today that they are intending to buy some properties. They can't tell you where and what, but they can tell you that they are buying something. They can't tell you why they are doing this, but they can tell you that there are many implications. We don't really know when we can tell you the information, but we thought it's a good idea to do PR around this decision.

Their corp comms ought to be shot.

(Names and content of the conversation has been tweaked severly for P&C reasons)

Who wants to be a "Real Woman" blogger

A piece of document produced by A reads:
A: These bloggers are 'real' woman...

B saw it and yelled across the room:
B: What is "A real woman"? Are there fake women bloggers?

Everyone in the room burst out laughing and C replied:
C: Got! Isabelle lor....

Yea, so I am actually not a real woman blogger. I am a man, as much as Megan Fox is.

Hurhurhur. Not funny. K back to work.

Isabelle didn't win the Watsons You Award...BUT

As the title suggests, I didn't win the Watsons You Award Healthy Hair thinggie. It's just too bad because I can already hear groans because my kickass prizes that were contingent upon me winning are now being forfeited...
  • No me in wet-T-shirt
  • No dominatrix serving coffee
  • No peeping at my assam-looking IC photo
  • No free Sunsilk haircare products
  • No smelling of random stranger's armpits
I was even prepared to jump into the Suntec City fountain, and sell my . But boo!

That said, it was fair that I didn't win. Although I had a whole digital campaign mapped out, I only managed to fulfill about 3-4 out of 15 milestone mostly due to laziness and addiction to guitar hero. All in all, it was a great mini-research relevant to whatever that I do at work (somewhat).

But to all you lovelies out there who have supported, tweeted, helped to spread the word in one way or another, here's a huge thank you to you! Special thanks to those who voted tirelessly for me everyday, or even those who bothered responding to my plea for votes.

Now that this is over, I will revert to blogging in profanities. :) And I'll be posting a very backdated entry soon...a secret skill that I have acquired from the hills of Vietnam. So stay tuned!

Lastly, allow me to extend my congratulations to winner of the Watsons You Award Hair Category, Samantha! :P

5 Good (and naughty) reasons to vote for me

Yes, I am canvasing for votes again. But before you start rolling your eyes and falling asleep, let me assure you that it pays to read on...

Because Watsons says...

If your favourite candidate(ie. me) wins, you will automatically be entered into a lucky draw. From which you will stand to win attractive product hampers worth up to $50 in value and a $100 Watsons Voucher! The more you vote, the more chances you have.

But hey, I'll give 5 better reasons to vote for me:

  • I'll give away my prize of sunsilk haircare items to 2 lucky voters
  • I'll get wet for a picture
  • I'll smell someone's armpits
  • I'll serve Vietnamese coffee in my dominatrix outfit or a pink wig, whichever that floats your boat
  • I'll flash my IC photo and leave it on my blog for a week. (It's that sua teng ah huay photo that even some of my ex-boyfriends have never seen)
In fact, if something good comes to your mind, leave me a comment and I might consider expanding the list :p

So help me win the Watsons You Award "Healthy Hair" category by voting for me...and you get to see me do all the above and more!

Moreover, how can you resist it when Valerie practically whore me out on her blog:

"For the Healthy Hair Award, I’ve picked the girl with the blackest, shiniest hair that would make be want to run my fingers through it. My vote goes to Isabelle Neo [A2] because her locks looks like it just came out from a shampoo ad! You know the ad where you put a comb through the hair and it just falls out immediately, I think I could do that with her hair. It looks so soft!"

Why you should look out for Watsons You Awards

Because I am one of the finalists competing to win the Healthy Hair Award.

And because you can help to support me.

Watsons celebrates everyone's the beauty in everyone's uniqueness with You Awards 2009 - For me, I found pride in my crowning glory.

Although I have the habit of saying that I have the messiest hair on earth, my healthy, long tresses defines me as a woman and I stride with greater confidence on good hair days. Being the queen of Vanity town, it is one of those things that you hardly notice when it falls in place, and then fret like hell when its too flat, too greasy or it's too kinky.

Why I want to win this contest

  • If I win, you as my voter stand a chance to win attractive prizes such as a $100 Watsons voucher from Watsons
  • I want to win the $2,000 to buy air-con for my house (Yes, I do not have air-con in my house)
  • You get to see me making silly faces in Watsons brochures with my 1 year modelling contract
  • Because I've never won a single contest in my life (Varsity Pageants that I got sabo-ed into doesn't count)
  • Because I need to know that this works the legitimate way, and I do not have to pay people from China 10 yuan to vote for me 10 times everyday.
  • Recession. I can smell a bonus cut hurling in my direction
  • Because my hair IS REALLY VERY NICE

And here's how you can help me

Check out my profile under Healthy Hair when you log on to http://www.watsonsyouawards.com.sg/ or you can link directly to my voting profile [HERE]
and VOTE for me!!! Isabelle Neo (A2)

Simply fill in the blanks which include your name, email address, and mobile phone number

Each person can only vote from 1 computer once a day, with 1 email address, so that people like me wouldn't be able to play cheat. The tag your IP address or something, but you can vote intensively everyday for 14 days straight.

SO yea, vote for me. Pretty PLEASE????

Do Singaporeans dress badly?

Singaporean's fashion scape is a unique one. On one end of the sprectrum, teenagers roaming the malls in beach shorts and slippers are a common place, and on the other, executives in Raffles place are so impeccably dressed in their tailored power suits of fine silk and premium cotton, that you spend the entire MRT trip home engineering your outfit for the next day, so that you won't feel out of place.

Singaporeans the cosmopolitanders
Singapore is a melting pot for many cultures around the world. Consequently, the dominant style is probably inspired by a mixture of cultures that we are exposed to.

Mid-range to high end international fashion brands have set up shops in town, niche boutiques mushrooming across the heartlands, and even the online world is bursting at its seams with the abundance of online shopping sites. The popularity of spree communities means that we (ME!) shop for clothes all over the world at the click of a mouse.

We take inspiration from British High Street fashion and the whimsical dreamy sillouttes synonymous with Korean Pop; we devour fashion blogs and celebrity watch for the latest IT bag and bomber jacket. We take a pinch of this and a bit of that, formulating into something that we call our own.

Perhaps you could say that we weren't very fashion savvy and looked a bit gong in the early 90s, but a decade later in 2009, Singaporeans are pretty discerning when it comes to grooming and making ourselves to look good.

Singaporeans the sensible dressers
I wouldn't use "trendsetters" to describe Singaporeans, and depending on which of our regional sistas you speak to, you'd probably get a variation of that observation.

But if you ask me, I think that Singaporeans are sensible in the way we make themselves look good, balancing comfort and style. Basking in the 32 degrees celsius heat almost everyday would make wearing fur coats look very silly, and in this kind of heat, hair flops and makeup melts...Nuff said.

After all, we are fashionably snooty enough that during my trip to Vietnam, my companions and I were sniggering at how the Vietnamese women had no qualms about roaming the streets at 5pm in their matching yellow daisy flower and pink polka dot PJs with pleated hair.

It makes sense that our staple wear is an ensemble of the tube top/singlet variation with short skirts.

Should people wearing their PJs out?
The Spring Summer Collection 09 debuted at Milan saw high-end designer brands, from Prada to Jean Paul Gaultier, ditch the stiff power suits in favour of a softer and more sumptuous trend: Pyjamas. Or what the big guys like to call "Luxury Loungewear".

So has sleepwear become the new outerwear?

I can image in image conscious Singapore, the idea of running around town in one's PJ might raise a few plucked eyebrows. But in my opinion, it all boils down to one's skill in pairing.

Forget about the cotton plaid fannel pyjamas with a matching blouse and bottoms, keep those at home; In fact, don't consider a matching satin one as well - those are reserved for Kungfu practitioners. Neither am suggesting that one consider wearing a half see-through negligee from Victoria's Secret. Even the slinky polka Dolce and Gabanna set that Jessica Alba donned for the Hollywood movie premiere might get you mistaken for a Geisha wannabe.
Instead go for a fine boudoir-inspired alternativemodernas suggested by the pretty Deputy Editor of STYLE: magazine, May Yip.

I thought the pairing of a kimono PJ with a modern gold skirt was brilliant.

Or you could do it like me, a couple of looks that are PJ inspired - relaxed, loungey and luxurious. Most importantly, good enough to hit the streets.

- Pair a long, diaphanous soft cotton drawstring pyjamas trouser with a fitted (and short) modern top, that barely graze the belly-button. I can see me sipping hot lemongrass in pretty china teacups at Dempsey on Sunday.

- Pair a silky PJ top with a high-waisted tight skirt. Add a dash of blusher, lipstick and slip on killer heels. You are ready for Raffles Place, and your colleagues wouldn't even guess that you just rolled out of bed!

The rest of my ugly Piyo Piyo an Hello Kitty PJ sheaths violates my fashion reputation, therefore my examples stop here, until I get nicer PJs for myself. :)

Geekess VS Smart bimbo

The Intern

In the week that I was away gallivanting in Vietnam, a new intern came into our office.
Since there was an empty spot at my desk, she was asked to fill my space until I am back from vacation.
.
.
.
.
I arrived at work unusually early that morning, and happily returned to my seat.

About half an hour later, the intern arrived in the office and made a beeline to the seat that she has grown accustomed to in the past 1 week, which of course I was perched prettily on.

Intern (to me): Isabelle?
Me: No, it's Muthu.
Intern: Where's Isabelle? And why are you sitting on Isabelle's seat? So where am I supposed to seat?
Me: Isabelle vas eaten up by me. Hee Hee Hee, and now I am going to eatchu!

The intern started crying.

Intern: Why, you are a horrible, horrible person and I hate you!
.
.
.
.

Fine... that didn't happen. The intern wasn't a bimbo, and the conversation above didn't happen beyond the 1st line.

Being the nice AE that I am, I showed her to her new seat, and brought her some draft paper from my stash to doodle on.

But if I didn't talk about what went on in my head, there wouldn't be an entry, would there?

My Vampire Chronicles

I've always been intrigued by the charismatic and sophistication of Vampires portrayed in modern fiction (the disgusting ones in Buffy are an exception). But as a general rule of thumb, most vampires that I've came across are mysterious, sensual and powerful blood suckers that have held my fascination for as long as my memory went.

Some friends and I have been musing upon the idea of dressing up as vampires, when we finally got down to it last Saturday.

Contrary to what one might think, there was no cheesy plastic fangs and messy bovine blood trailing off anyone's neck. Through the clever use lighting, some expert styling and Underworld-inspired costume: full thigh-high boots, corsets that suck your breath out and flasher leather coats, the shoot was laid out to depict a vampire's surreal existence, stylized solitude and animalistic sensuality.

We focused on 2 key ingredients that makes up a vampire:
1) Haunting eyes.

ItalicAlthough I might have fall slightly short of achieving that, but the idea is that the typical Isabelle "cow" face doesn't show.

2) Sleek but deadly poise of a vampire

And of course not forgetting the disputes stemmed from their territoriality.

Me on Creative Vado HD Camcorder

Working on tech and digital PR has its perks. Everytime the company gets a cool new gizmo, you are the first to test it out. I doubt the alcohol team gets to guzzle down buckets to Champagne/Whisky before the event itself.

So for the event this Saturday, my company ordered this cool gizmo, Creative Vado HD Camcorder from Creative for me, which delivered within a short 24 hours.

I was hyperventilating when it came because not only was it cool and compact, it's totally idiot proof and really easy to use.

Complete with 8GB of memory, and cool movie editing functions, like adding music, effect and all the la-dee-dum, videos can also be automatically shared on various online platforms in just a matter of seconds.

So presenting my virgin movie, created by me, directed by me, and starring me...

*Eh clap la!!*

Jetting off to Bali for the Easter Holidays

Escaping into the lush greenery nestled somewhere within Bali's cultural paradise, Ubud.

By a stroke of luck, I managed to catch Air Asia's lunchtime promotion, for a vastly discounted round-trip to idyllic Bali and back.

*I will try to upload the view from the front porch of my 2-storey villa, with paddy field view and outdoor bath, onto tweetpic if they have wireless in the wilderness. (That's why we need WiMax)

See ya sucker~ Woots.

The truth about wine and food pairing

I have always wondered, when connoisseurs pair wine with food, is the wine supposed to bring out the flavour of the food, or is the food supposed to bring out the flavour of the wine.

Today, I faux pas and learnt it the hard way that it is the latter, when I said, "Hmm, this sauvignon blanc made my chicken really yummy," and everyone at the table cracked up.

M.A.C. Hello Kitty makeup comes to town

Unless you were born before 1950 or if you have a PhD (you are excused from anything if you have a PhD :p), you should have heard or read about the unexpected union between quirky makeup brand, M.A.C. and Hello Kitty, the pink sweetheart with a red bow from Sanrio.

So move aside, Majorlica Majorca, because M.A.C Hello Kitty is in town and is on the prowl! Meow~

Hello Kitty Mild, meet Hello Kitty Wild! Sweet and innocent or out on the prowl: when she's good, she's very good, but when she's bad, she's unmistakably M·A·C!

I had the good fortune of being invited to the M.A.C. Hello Kitty cocktail soiree that celebrated the debut of the adorable collections of colours, finishes, glitters and accessories. The M.A.C. kitty collection features the iconic cat in a pop art design packaging, with limited-edition colour in intense hues that are a signature of M.A.C cosmetics.

Topless men kitties (I was told later that they were known as S&M kitties - complete with leather pants and nipples) were the hors d'oeuvres at the event, as they stood around to take pictures with the celebrity-studded audience.

I simply couldn't give this a miss, could I? Oops, I look a tad too happy.

In between ooh-ahhing over the kitty-oriented cocktails, canapes and accessories that were served, we were bowled over by the huge array of kitty accessories that sprung out of this collection.

Being the beauty junkies that we are, Val and I also had a smashing time dipping our fingers into the limited-edition makeup palettes with quirky names such as Lucky Tom, Too Dolly, and Pink Fish.

While neither Too Dolly nor M.A.C.'s glitter pigments were my cup of tea, considering that I have the type of face that simply cannot wear too much makeup and colours, I was really sold on the Lip Glass.

Unlike some cheapo lip gloss that melts into a "greasy mouth syndrome" (think oily lips after eating oily chicken wings), M.A.C.'s lip glass works like a lip gloss but it sort of dries up to leave a beautiful glaze over your lips, making it look luscious and shiney without that sticky & wet feel that most lip gloss have.

I was given the colour Mimmy, a nubile peach pink with a slight hint of glitter, that is coincidentally so me. Use it on its own for a barely-there oh-I-am-so-beautiful-naturally look, or slick on a nude lipstick shade underneath for a an understated city chic.

You can tell how yummylicious the lip gloss is from the above picture, with me looking as if I was trying to crunch it all up for dinner.

The nice folks at M.A.C also gave us a matching eye colour each.
Isabelle -> Mimmy(the lip glass) and Concrete (the dark brown eye shadow)

Valerie -> Nice Kitty (the lip glass) and Nanogold (the pale golden eye shadow) that works beautifully as a base on Asian skin tones.
I'll be re-creating my own M.A.C Mild kitty look soon. So stay tuned~

Till the next time I blog. Images are a courtesy of Valerie, and here's the link to her blog...just so you know who's the real camwhore here. LOL~

The world's most fashionable feline stars as the new M.A.C. icon

Teaser:

1) What is 5 apples tall and weighs 3 apples?
2) What has no mouth because she speaks from her heart?"

Answers to be revealed after tonight...
I can't believe it, but I am actually excited about this. Very excited.

I know I am a little too old for this, but ah lian-ness is a tenacious characteristic that clings onto you for life.
